Michael E. Pérez

The place you are called to be is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep need meet.

– Frederick Buechner

Michael E. Pérez is an attorney and owner of The Pérez Law Firm, LLC, located in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael represents individuals and businesses in all types of civil litigation as well as individuals in catastrophic personal injury cases. Regardless of the type of case, Michael brings his extensive experience, knowledge of the law, advocacy, and creative problem-solving skills together to obtain the best results for his clients.

My Story

I knew at an early age that I wanted to help people, but I did not quite know how I could do that. I wasn’t particularly good at building things, and I didn’t feel like I’d make a very good police officer or firefighter. During my teenage years, a friend was wrongfully accused of something. The details don’t matter, but it triggered something in me. I wanted to fight for my friend. I needed to stand up for him and fight this injustice. I argued, advocated, and changed the minds of his accusers. It helped my friend and the experience helped me understand what brings me my deep gladness. Fighting to get justice for others.

And the world has a deep need for justice. Throughout my legal career, I’ve represented families and individuals who have been hurt by other people, healthcare organizations or corporations. And as the child of immigrants who fled Cuba for a country that valued justice and equality for all, I have a strong appreciation for our system of justice and the Constitutional right to a trial by jury. Fighting for my clients’ rights is something I care deeply about, and it is my honor to represent those who feel that they are powerless against insurance companies, healthcare providers and big corporations.

Experience

I’ve had the great joy of fighting for the Davids of the world against the Goliaths, working in law firms that have represented those injured by the negligence or wrongful acts of others.  Early in my career, I gained extensive business litigation experience in high stakes civil litigation cases including cases with claims of stock fraud, death spiral financing, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, restrictive covenants, civil RICO claims, and trade secrets. In that work, I learned that just as individuals can be hurt by the wrongful acts of others, so too can businesses and shareholders.

Another part of my work involved representing individuals in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury automobile and trucking collisions, wrongful death matters, and premises liability, products liability, and other personal injury matters.  Assisting families obtain a measure of justice from tragic situations is what gets me up in the morning and keeps me focused on my work.

Throughout my career, I’ve carried forward this blend of working on personal injury cases and business litigation.  I’ve had the honor of working on several trial teams to secure multimillion-dollar verdicts in wrongful death cases and have argued cases extensively in our State and Superior Courts.

In addition to my work in Georgia, I have also represented clients in cases in Texas, California, Nevada, Arkansas and Alabama.

At The Pérez Law Firm, we have experience getting justice for the injured. Let us do that for you.
